Snake Eyes – A fresh coat of paint does wonders for this reboot entry into the G.I. Joe universe. Snake Eyes is entertaining and presents an interesting opportunity to the classic franchise.
Space Jam : A New Legacy – Or Product Placement : The Movie, you decide. This is one of those all too frequent sequels that didn’t need to be made. It is an absolute chore to watch.
The Tomorrow War – On the surface, The Tomorrow War seemed to me that it would be another “Groundhog Day” type sci-fi movie, a la Live, Die, Repeat (Edge of Tomorrow). However, there’s enough of a difference here that it isn’t completely overshadowed by similar movies and I think that there are a few key elements that really make this movie stand on its own two legs. This time bending adventure (that’s got some sneaky good humor) from Chris McKay and Amazon Studios is a fun option for a weekend night in.
Black Widow – The latest Marvel movie after a small, teensy pandemic flavored break nearly destroyed the theatrical release system and the whole world along with it. But now, after many long months, Marvel is back like it never left. Huge set pieces, mediocre music, impressive visuals and enough Easter eggs to create hundreds of click bait videos and BuzzFeed articles.
Weekend Watchlist – June 18, 2021 – An early 2010s zombie epidemic thriller, Classic Will Ferrell comedy, and some Keanu 90s cheese for your weekend watchlist. What are you watching?
Special Feature – My Top 10 Worst Movies of All Time – I’ve seen a lot of good movies and a TON of bad movies. Here are the worst movies I’ve ever seen!
Nobody – A refreshing take on the retired secret agent trope with the ever talented Bob Odenkirk.
John Wick – John Wick is a straight up heart pounding return to form action adventure starring one of the best to ever do it in Keanu Reeves.
Mortal Kombat is a the latest in a long line of video game movies and reboots. While it isn’t a great movie movie, it is a great video game movie for fans of the genre.
