The Matrix

The Matrix – An astonishingly fresh movie from way back in 1999, The Matrix is just as relevant and revered today as it was back then with genre-defining visuals and ideas from an all star cast.

The Matrix is an astonishingly fresh live-action movie from 1999, starring Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Laurence Fishburne. Over 20 years since its original debut, The Matrix is still incredibly relevant in modern culture.

An unassuming man is known as Thomas Anderson in the “real world” and Neo online searches for the international terrorist Morpheus. When Neo is apprehended by shadowy agents of a nondescript organization, Morpheus intervenes and tells Neo to follow the White Rabbit to Neverland. After he is released, Neo meets a stranger who also sought Morpheus and follows her in order to meet Morpheus who has promised to reveal the secret that Neo has always suspected to be true.

While the dated CGI begins to show its age, The Matrix is still an astonishingly good movie by 2022 standards. The story has impressive and thought-provoking ideas with genre-defining action.

The Matrix is currently streaming on HBO Max, along with the rest of the Matrix quadrilogy.
