The Nightmare Before Christmas

I’ve mentioned this before, but Tim Burton is an acquired taste for me. His movies are fun and whimsical, but so different from what I’m used to.

Jack Skellington, the king of Halloweentown grows weary of the same old routine and discovers a hidden tree grove with portals to other holiday towns. He goes through one and discovers Christmastown. Fascinated by how different it is, he decides to bring the spirit of Christmas to Halloweentown but the plan goes awry as the citizens of Halloweentown grow confused.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a claymation movie from Tim Burton and Henry Selick, with the ever-talented Danny Elfman running the score. It is a little dated, compared to more recent claymation movies that have hit the silver screen, but it is still a damn good movie. There’s not much to complain about, but it is probably my new number one favorite Burton movie.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is available to stream on Prime Video ($)
