The incredibly successful Daniel Craig era of James Bond begins with the reimagining of a classic short story in Casino Royale.
Recently elevated to double O status, James Bond learns about an underworld banker that finances the world’s terrorist organizations. Not one to ignore a challenge, Bond infiltrates the organization and learns that there is a poker game that will be played to recoup lost funds by the banker. The stakes couldn’t be higher for the newly minted secret agent as he falls in love with his partner for the mission and soon discovers that everybody has their secrets.
In anticipation for No Time to Die, Craig’s last outing as James Bond, I decided to rewatch all the current movies. Casino Royale sticks out as one of the best of this modern era and sets a very high bar for the next iteration of the titular character.
Casino Royale is available to stream on Prime Video.
