A classic Spielberg movie starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, based on an unforgettable and off the walls crazy (not) true story.
Catch Me If You Can tells the story of Frank Abagnale Jr, allegedly one of the greatest conmen the world has ever seen. After leaving his upscale high school, Frank is enrolled in the public school system where he takes advantage of his first opportunity as a conman. From then on, Frank hones his skills and is soon flying as an international pilot, a budding lawyer and a resident physician, all while being pursued relentlessly by Carl Hanratty.
If you’ve paid attention to the news lately, you might have come across a story saying that Frank Abagnale is completely full of shit and didn’t actually do any of the things in his book or this movie. ***Shockedpikachu.jpg*** You mean a conman is lying? While I am disappointed that it was another con, it is still a damn good movie and one of my favorite Spielberg movies. The only major gripe I have is Tom Hanks’ horrible accent. You’ll get used to it about an hour into the film, but wow is it bad.
Catch Me If You Can is an extremely fun movie, and while it’s approaching the 100% fiction mark, you can still enjoy the performance of a young Leo and a golden age Tom Hanks with support from Christopher Walken.
